Caste (Oprah’s Book Club) Audiobook
The word “Caste” can be a pinching word when it is being used for distribution or sectioning. Isabel Wilkerson is talking about this thing with reference to America but the author has used several examples too so that we can understand her point of view. The author has not tried to mock anyone rather she wants to correct the past and the present for the sake of a better future which she wants to see.
Isabel is of the view that the people in America are basically following a caste system which is different as compared to the race or class system. There are eight pillars on which the structure of caste stands according to the author and it is essential that all of us know properly about these pillars. [Caste (Oprah’s Book Club) Audiobook]
One of this is of course the bloodlines which keep on supporting their own groups or families. The author says that these things are there ion India and Germany too but it should be eradicated because the fate of the nation is depending on it. Clear tone of Robin Miles tells the purpose of the book very clearly here. [Caste (Oprah’s Book Club) Audiobook]
These things are apparently not common but they are eating the roots of humanity very quickly. The term common humanity is often used by the people but it is something which is not being followed in the world. Just like Homo Deus this book is focusing on the future and the author is of the view that progress is impossible until the issue of caste remains unsolved in America and also in the rest of the world. The topic is different and surely the author has done a lot of investigation for the sake of this book.
