Selecting anything linked to fantasy can be quite difficult at times because you cannot decide what to choose. Patrick’s fans don’t look for other authors’ creations because they know that their favorite author has a lot of stuff in stock for them.
The writer has described a New World in the novel and this new world has only men in it along with a young boy. The rest of the population got killed because of a germ. Because of the Noise Germ Todd i.e, the only boy in the world can hear what the men are thinking, and then men can also hear what he thinks about them.
This is not a good thing when everyone is hiding some sort of secret from one another. So Todd decides to look for those secrets in a hidden way before he converts into a man. During his search, he finds a girl which is an odd thing because all the females of his specie died a long time ago because of the germ. Now the girl stands as a hope for society and she is also a sign that there are many things that the men have been keeping a secret.
Nick Podehl has shown his experience in narration and he has finally proved that he is much better than the other new narrators who are willing to make their mark in this field. The narrator can be considered a yardstick among the narrators of fiction and fantasy tales.
