This is the second installment and this book needs a careful understanding, the rest of the series will be on approximately the same theme. Jemma liked her life and her friends present around her. The day she was told that she wasn’t a human changed everything for her. Though she does not believe any of those stupid things initially the reality started coming to the surface very soon.
Jemma is actually a Slayer and she does not know what it means to be one. All she knows is that her friend Taylor has disappeared and she has also lost the Immortal Amulet which she was given for protection. She has to find both of these things before it is too late. To her surprise, there is also a demon who is looking for her and it is not only looking for Jemma, the creature is looking for her blood.
Now she has to say goodbye to the old days of peace and should face the enemy strongly. In case the enemy remains successful then the entire world will face terror. Jemma cannot use her powers properly but she is trying to do so because she is left with no other option at all. World of Inception and Incarnate were developed by Bianca Scardoni so it was never a problem for the author to bring a character like Jemma into the fictional world.
There is no weakness in the story at any point and Bailey Carr has narrated it with an unmatchable voice through the narration. It is clear that the narrator also enjoyed the story that’s why there is no apparent haste anywhere.
