Brandon Sanderson is a big player who writes long series with epic endings. It is the long series that the author is famous for and he has not invested much of his time in short stories before this one. Firefight and The Alloy of Law are some of the masterpieces which made Sanderson a famous writer. This one is a new experiment as he has written a short story and the scenario reminds us of Steelheart.
It is linked to that long series but the story can be treated as a solo thing because it has its own beginning, middle, and end. Nothing remains in the story which is explained in any other part of the series so it is a great effort by the writer by all means. Not only the author of this book is a great one but also the narrator is none other than MacLeod Andrews who is a legend in his own department.
Listening to this book on any other day except the weekend might not be a problem at all because it is not a very long book and it will have no impact on your work the next days. There are assassins who are not killing the innocent rather they are after the aliens or invaders who are trying to take over the planet.
The enemy has won apparently and the humans are fighting a lost battle according to many people but still, the assassins see hope in everything and they think that they can outclass anyone if they get the chance. This short little story will not allow you any kind of break at any place and the audience will love the flow of the story by all means.
